Maximo F. Madril

Alamosa resident Maximo F. Madril, 86, passed away March 20, 2023, peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Max was welcomed into the world on Oct. 7, 1936, in Alamosa, Colo., the son of Luis Madril and Rebecca DeHerrera Madril.

After graduating from high school, Max enlisted and served in the United States Army. He then re-enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served for two decades then retired.

Max was united in marriage to the love of his life Barbara Martinez on Sept. 17, 1960. They shared a happy and loving union until her passing. He was a member of the V.F.W. In his free time, Max enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren at their events. His family was his greatest accomplishment and he loved them all dearly.

He will live on through his son Dominic (Denise) Madril of Colorado Springs, Colo.; daughter Danielle (Chris) Little of Surprise, Ariz.;  grandchildren Justin (Sherrie) Tway, Melissa (Jason) Barnes, Mark Little, Courtney (Chase) Brant, Tayler (Luke) Williams, Brendon Madril, Michael Madril, great-grandchildren Jeremiah Dieffenbach, Ethan Dieffenbach, Michia Barnes, Arialynn Barnes, Austin Brant and Hunter Brant; siblings James Madril, Richard (Marion) Madril, Rebecca Madril and Georgiana Salazar. He is also survived by many other extended family members and friends.

Max was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Barbara Madril, son David Madril, sister Alice Ford. He was also preceded in death by many other family members and friends.

Viewing and visitation will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2023, from 12-4 p.m. at the Romero Funeral Chapel in Alamosa. Vigil Service will be on Friday, March 31, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. with Mass of the Resurrection to follow at 10 a.m. both at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Alamosa. Interment will be held at the Alamosa Cemetery with full military honors.
