May menus for the senior centers throughout the SLV

VALLEY — Following are the May menus for the senior centers throughout the San Luis Valley. Reservations are required. Call South Central Colorado Seniors at 589-4511 or sign up at the individual meal sites. All meals are served with 1-percent milk, no trans fat and no salt margarine. Margarine is served with bread products. Menus are subject to change.

Monday, May 1 — Chili relleno casserole, yellow squash/tomatoes, plums, whole wheat tortilla

Tuesday, May 2 — Crunchy fish, tarter sauce, coleslaw, mixed vegetables, pineapple mandarin orange compote, whole wheat bread

Wednesday, May 3 — Salisbury steak, mashed potatoes, asparagus, whole wheat roll, apples/pears

Thursday, May 4 — Baked potatoes with broccoli and cheese, Caesar salad, fruit yogurt, vanilla wafers

Friday, May 5 — Taco salad casserole, salsa, zucchini/tomatoes, peaches, whole wheat tortillas

Monday, May 8 — Fish Creole, cheesy potatoes, broccoli/cauliflower, sliced peaches, whole wheat roll

Tuesday, May 9— Beef stroganoff, orange spiced carrots, salad with black beans, mixed fruit, whole wheat bread

Wednesday, May 10 — Chicken cordon bleu, brown rice, asparagus, mandarin oranges, whole wheat crackers

Thursday, May 11 — Hamburger on whole wheat bun with everything, sweet potato fries, pasta salad with fresh broccoli, pineapple

Friday, May 12 — Spaghetti and meat sauce, salad, green beans, apricot halves, bread sticks

Monday, May 15 — Chicken potpie, seasoned broccoli, salad, pineapple, whole wheat crackers

Tuesday, May 16 — Sloppy Joe on whole wheat bun, sun chips, seasoned spinach, mandarin oranges, frog eye salad

Wednesday, May 17 — Meatloaf with brown gravy, potatoes, mixed vegetables, strawberry applesauce, whole wheat bread

Thursday, May 18 — Macaroni and cheese with ham, Brussels sprouts, Waldorf salad with walnuts, whole wheat bread, chocolate pudding

Friday, May 19 — Swiss steak, parsley potatoes, 3-bean salad, half orange, whole wheat bun

Monday, May 22 — Beef & broccoli stir fry, steamed brown rice, steamed carrots, peaches, whole wheat bread

Tuesday, May 23 — Chef’s salad bowl with chicken, sunflower seeds, ranch dressing, whole wheat crackers, oatmeal cookie, apricots

Wednesday, May 24 — BBQ beef on wheat bun, oven baked beans, coleslaw, pears, frosting on spice cake
