The average American household has four pounds of prescription and over-the-counter medication – much of it sitting around unused and even expired. Folks can now bring these unused and expired prescription and over-the-counter medications — even vitamins — to the secure drop box located at La Jara Pharmacy on 412 E. Main Street in La Jara. It’s a smart step to preventing medication misuse in the community and a way to “Take Meds Seriously.” Pharmacist and La Jara Pharmacy owner Joseph Valdez, shown, welcomes folks to bring their medications to the drop box.
