

Melissa Rae Arguello-Bennett

Alamosa resident Melissa Rae Arguello-Bennett, 43, passed away Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Melissa was born in Evanston, Wyo., on July 9, 1980. The daughter of Eddie Arguello and Karen Louise Hayes Quintana. She was united in marriage to Ronald Joseph Bennett on March 30, 2018, in Pueblo, Colo.
Melissa loved taking long Harley rides with her husband and friends. She also enjoyed spending time in the mountains, camping, and fishing. She always had a good time, going to concerts.
Along with her husband, Melissa is survived by her daughter Brianna Lucero of Pueblo, Colo.; Mother, Karen (Ralph) Quintana of Pueblo, Colo.; siblings, Micheal Alires (Ann) of Aurora, Colo., Christy Arguello of Jaroso, Colo., Manuel Arguello of North Carolina, Billie Jo Arguello of Pueblo, Colo., and William Arguello of Pueblo, Colo. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews Litisha Quintana, Alonzo Martinez, Abbileigh Muller, Marrisa Baca, Jacob Arguello-Ybarra; Grandmother Anita Geis of Pueblo, Colo., numerous aunts, and uncles. Melissa is also survived by her stepsons Anthony Bennett and Kenneth Bennett.
Melissa was preceded in death by her Father as well as her grandparents Jose Arguello, and Eutima Arguello, and Bill Hayes and great-grandparents Fred and Adela Alires.
A visitation will be held Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023, from 10 a.m. to noon at Rogers Family Mortuary, 205 State Ave., Alamosa, followed by a Recitation of the Rosary at 12 p.m. On Saturday the 4th of November at 10 a.m. there will be a Funeral Mass at the Amalia Santo Niño Church in Amalia, N.M., committal of ashes will follow in the Amalia Cemetery. After services, join her family to celebrate Melissa’s life at the Sagrado Corazón Parish Center in Costilla, N.M., food will be served at approximately 1 p.m.
