Mental Health Colorado offers new data dashboard

STATEWIWDE – Mental Health Colorado is launching an innovative one-stop-shop for communities to learn more and act on mental health and substance use disparities in their region.

This data dashboard is available on Mental Health Colorado’s website, mentalhealthcolorado.org, to help communities, funders, and consumers deal with mental health and substance use questions in their area. It is a tool that they can use for information to help them make change in their communities.

Specifically, the dashboard includes mental wellness statistics county by county. These statistics include percentage of children who needed mental health care, percentage of high schoolers who have considered suicide, overall suicide rate, percentage of residents who reported poor mental health, opioid overdose rate and more.

Research Director, Dr. Sarah Davidon says, “Our data dashboard will assess mental health and substance use issues facing children, adolescents, and adults in Colorado to inform policy decisions.  This project exists to measure how our state is doing, and provide a model for advocacy that is driven by data.”

Mental Health Colorado hopes this proactive approach will help citizens, funders, and consumers become leaders in the fight to bring better mental health care to all Coloradans.

More than one million Coloradans experience a mental health or substance use disorder each year. Fewer than half get treatment.

Mental Health Colorado is the state’s leading advocate for the prevention and treatment of mental health and substance use disorder each year.
