Mollie Rae Peterson

What a wonderful birthday present! This beautiful woman was reunited with her husband and family in heaven on the morning of her 93rd birthday.

Mollie Rae Mickelsen Peterson peacefully passed March 9, 2023. She was born on March 9, 1930, to Clifford and Ella Mickelsen in Sanford, Colo. She grew up surrounded by her two brothers, lots of cousins, books, and loving parents. Mollie always referred to herself as a tomboy with long Mickelsen legs, and she may have been, yet as an adult she was always full of class and grace.

She married her high school sweetheart, Wallace Peterson and had four children: Mickey Lynn, Wallace Glenn, JoElla, and Clay. They taught their children the value of hard work and service.

Mollie will be remembered for her kind heart, peaceful demeanor, warm home-made bread, covering chocolate candy at Christmas, and keeping her house spotlessly clean. She loved her family, the Lord and reading the Book of Mormon. They loved to travel and have seen many parts of the world.

One of her life’s most memorable experiences was when she and Wallace served a church education mission in Faisalabad, Pakistan, where she taught ESL. It was rough living conditions, yet she loved the people.

Mollie’s legacy includes her four children, eight grandchildren who adore her, 15 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

There will be no formal services, rather an intimate family remembrance at 11 a.m. on March 15 at the Lindquist Mortuary in Syracuse, Utah. She will be interred in Sanford, Colo.

We are grateful for the kind service given to Mollie while she was at Sunridge Assisted Living Center in Roy, Utah.
