Former Valley resident and graduate Melanie Montaño was recently accepted in the Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in Middletown, New York. Montaño is a 2007 Monte Vista High School graduate and a 2011 University of Northern Colorado Greeley graduate and has since resided in Denver working as a paramedic with Denver Health. Montaño is the daughter of Jon Montaño and Jackie Martinez, both of Monte Vista.
