Monte Vista notches first win against Dolores

MONTE VISTA — Monte Vista (1-4) took no prisoners Friday night knocking off Dolores 45-6.

With the Dolores Bears in town for a league meeting, it was prime time for Monte Vista to tally a win. Monte Vista hammered the Bears going up 38-0 before the half. In the final minutes of the half, a Kaidon Wenta rushing touchdown further extended the lead, the PAT was good putting Monte Vista up 45-0 triggering a running clock before the break.

Dating back to 2010, a Dolores visit has been nothing but good news for Monte Vista. Counting Friday night, the Pirates have taken all the games over the past decade for a perfect 10-0 record against the Bears.

Monte Vista will go from the Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) No. 37 Ranked team in Dolores to the No. 8 team in Centauri. Pirates and Falcons meet in  La Jara Friday, Oct. 11.
