Monte Vista wrestling falls on the road to Bayfield

Monte Vista’s Nick Garcia prepares to pin Bayfield’s Colby Bakerduring Intermountain League dual action at 120 pounds, Thursday night inside BHS Gymnasium.  Garcia’s pin was made official at 1:31 of the first period.  The Pirates, however, would lose 39-26 to the Wolverines.

Monte Vista’s Jacob Chavez keeps Bayfield’s Shane Moore from wriggling away during IML action at 170 pounds, Thursday night inside BHS Gymnasium.  Chavez defeated Moore by a 16-0 technical fall, made official during the second period, but the Wolverines would benefit from two upper-weight forfeit victories—stretching their lead from27-20 after Chavez’s win, to 39-20 and ultimately 39-26.
