Move Mountains Youth Group to host educational forum for community

SAN LUIS — The Move Mountains Youth Group invites youth, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, the community and community leaders to a powerful presentation about opioids (pain killers) and heroin usage as experienced by a teenager whose life has been forever changed by her mother’s addiction.

Amarah will tell a compelling story of how she has managed to survive while helping other kids like herself.  She is a guest columnist with the San Luis Valley Courier and has written nearly 100 articles addressing a variety of subject matters that affect young people. This powerful testimony will held on Friday, April 27th from 1-3 p.m. at the Centennial School Library in San Luis.

The latest data and statistics in Costilla County show that opioid and heroin usage are on the rise as presented by local law enforcement agencies in previous forums held in the community.

This educational presentation is free and open to the public. The community is encouraged to attend.
