MV Kiwanis holds benefit sale Saturday

MONTE VISTA — The Monte Vista Kiwanis Club will be holding a benefit Garage Sale on Saturday, June 16, at 236 Adams Street in Monte Vista from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be a nice selection of household items, books, knick-knacks, dishes, Christmas and other holiday items, toys, and miscellaneous items. Thanks to all the community citizens who donated items to the garage sale and to the Monte Vista Journal, Alamosa Courier, and KSLV for publicity.

Proceeds will aid in providing funds for 2018 Signature projects: Chromebooks for the Delta Center; assistance with items still required for the Faith Hinkley Veteran’s Memorial Park; educational items for the Sargent Early Learning Center; Boy Scouts, and other community projects. Kiwanis members also put up the American flags on holidays and at Stampede; deliver treats to members and residents of the senior centers; provide dictionaries for third graders at Bill Metz Elementary, the Lutheran School, and the Amish Schools; provide scholarships to MVHS Key Club members; and send Operation Christmas Child boxes for children in other countries.

MV Kiwanis appreciates the support of the citizens of Monte Vista and surrounding communities in its efforts of “Serving the Children of the World.”
