New Orleans band to perform at Wildwood June 16

DEL NORTE — Wildwood Sounds, 850 Grande Ave., Del Norte, presents Secondhand Street Band, a six-piece band doing New Orleans style Jazz and Funk, on Saturday, June 16, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20. Call 657-4757 or see wildwoodsounds.com.

The Secondhand Street Band is returning to Colorado for the second time in as many years, and will make their first ever stop in Del Norte at Wildwood Sounds on Saturday, June 16th. Del Norte residents and regulars will enjoy on the outdoor stage a six-piece New Orleans style band with dancing on the indoor stage.

This New Orleans-based act will then move up the road to close out Salida’s 70th annual FIBArk Festival on Sunday, June 17th. 

Formed in 2015, the Secondhand Street Band is a collective of musicians from all over the US and abroad who, one way or another, ended up in New Orleans, Louisiana. A collection of locals, transplants, and itinerants, this ensemble performs a concoction jazz, funk, and other horn-driven musical styles.

With over 40 regular members spanning at least five or six countries, the group is an ever-changing assortment of entertaining street performers, who all share the common goal of bringing music, comedy, and joy to those around them.

This tour will feature a 6-piece line up comprised of Dan Ruch (trumpet, sousaphone), Adam Lessnau (trombone, sousaphone), Jason Cash (alto/tenor sax, clarinet, flute), Felipe Karrera (electric/acoustic guitar), Moses Eder (snare/bass drum), and Eli Lamb (snare/bass drum).
