NGBC hosts local author

ALAMOSA — The Narrow Gauge Book Cooperative (NGBC) will be hosting Karen Ballentine’s official book release on Saturday, November 17th from 11 a.m.- 12 p.m. Her newest book is titled Bygone Stories from the Creede Candle 1894.

Karen lives in Mosca with her husband Galen and their black cat Panther. She is addicted to newspaper stories from the 1800s and has published the best stories from three San Luis Valley newspapers, including Bygone Alamosa 1884 and Bygone Del Norte 1885. Her newest book will round out the series as an anthology of the most interesting news excerpted from the Creede Candle in 1894.

The NGBC will also be hosting an open house on Saturday, sharing light refreshments and gift wrapping. Stop on by to get into the holiday spirit and share the gift of reading.
