Nominate an SLVH Nurse for Colorado’s Nightingale Awards

Since 1985, the Nightingale Awards are Colorado’s highest nursing honor and nominations are now open.

Nominees can be in one of two categories: nurses in clinical practice (with 50% or more of their time providing direct patient care) or administrators, educators, researchers, or another non-traditional practice role.

Next, the nominator must determine what area of recognition they’d like to nominate their nurse for. The options are advocacy, leadership, and innovation.

Lastly, the nominator must identify two individuals to request letters of support.

The deadline for the San Luis Valley will be in December (exact date TBD).

The nomination process has several steps, but San Luis Valley Health’s Chief Nursing Officer, Roberta Bean, and Director of Emergency Services, Monica Hinds, have graciously offered to help anyone with the nomination process. Their emails are [email protected] and [email protected] respectively.

At SLVH, we want to celebrate our amazing nursing staff so do not hesitate to reach out for help nominating.
