Oktobrüfest returns for second year

ALAMOSA — The second annual Oktobrüfest is coming to Alamosa on Saturday!

The event is the San Luis Valley spin on the centuries old tradition of Oktoberfest.

There will be plenty of local breweries that will participate including SquarePeg, San Luis Valley Brewing Company, The Colorado Farm Brewery, Wild Edge Brewing Collective and Three Barrel Brewing Company.

There will also be plenty of food from Gosar Natural Foods and San Luis Valley Pizza and Catering Company.

Live music from Innastate, Dave Mensch, and Christian Jaquez will add to the festivities.

There will be also plenty of games, contests, and fun kids activities.

The event will be held at Sunset Park (next to North River Greenhouse on West Avenue/Highway 285) in Alamosa on Saturday, September 29, from 1 to 8 p.m.

The weather should be warmer and drier this year than it was for the first event last year. The forecast for Saturday is sunny skies with a high temperature of 78 degrees.

Tickets are $10 for basic entry and $35 for VIP (which includes stein, hat and one drink ticket.) Buy tickets at the event, on line at oktobrufestalamosa.com or from the Alamosa County Chamber of Commerce, 719-589-3681 or at Del Mar Carpet One or Rocky Mountain Home Health Supplies.
