

Panthers, Rams dominate 1A All-SPL baseball team

ALAMOSA – The Class 1A All-Southern Peaks baseball team was released last week with several players from Sierra Grande and Centennial high schools being named.
The Panthers had five All-League selections including sophomore Kobe Mizokami who was named the Co-Player of the Year. Mizokami was also a first team selection along with junior Brian Ontiveros.
Freshman Kimball Grissom and junior Derek Martinez were both second team selections, and senior Angelo Valencia-Lucero was honorable mention.
The Rams also had five selections and were led by junior Samuel Aguilera who was the other Co-Player of the Year. Aguilera was also named to the first team along with senior Diego Romero.
Sophomores Johnny Perea and Manny Benton were second team selections and sophomore Jose Molina was honorable mention.
Sierra Grande had a record of seven wins and eight losses, and Centennial went 0-10.
