Paragliders continue their journey

...

Brian Richards prepares for takeoff and then takes flight as part of the Rio Grande Adventure. The Paraglider team with a quest to document the entire Rio Grande is continuing onward. Individuals from around the United States are participating in this venture. The group launched from the Creede airport, stopped in Del Norte, then arrived at San Luis Lakes State Park by Thursday evening. Due to some less than ideal wind conditions, there was not a full flight of the Great Sand Dunes National Park as planned. However, some of the crew still did a few brief flights over San Luis Lakes. The team leader, Jean Fracois Chaboud, pointed out that the group is frequently monitoring the weather as it is highly important for the distance that can be travelled as well as fueling purposes, etc. The group is continuing on to Taos, and then on to Santa Fe. The group plans to reach the Gulf of Mexico and document the challenges that the Rio Grande faces. The progress of the group will continue to be updated at riograndeadventure.com and on Facebook.
