Paving set for highways in Costilla, Conejos Counties

VALLEY—The Colorado Department of Transportation will be working on two highways in south-central Colorado during the month of June. Maintenance crews will be performing paving operations on Colorado Highways (CO) 159 and 17.

June 4—30: Crews will be working on a five-mile stretch of CO 159 south of San Luis and near the New Mexico state line, between mile points (MP) 0-5.

June 11—21: Crews will be working at two locations on CO 17, also near the New Mexico state line on La Manga and Cumbres Passes. One location is at MP 0-1. The second location is at MP 19-20.

TRAVEL IMPACTS:

Motorists will encounter brief delays. Motorists should be prepared for stops and one-lane alternating traffic guided by flaggers and a pilot vehicle. The speed limit will be reduced to 40 MPH in the work zone. CDOT urges the traveling public to slow down and be aware of workers and equipment on the roadway.
