Penta Efren Segura

ALAMOSA — Former San Luis resident Penta Efren Segura, 84, passed away peacefully Sept. 9, 2019 at the Evergreen Nursing Home with his loving family by his side.

Penta was born on July 9, 1935 in San Francisco, Colorado, the son of Tircio Segura and Magdalena Lucero Segura. Penta worked for many years as a farmer, he had a passion for growing and harvesting all produce grown in our beautiful state. On his free time Penta enjoyed working on cars for his neighbors and friends. His greatest joy in life came from the time he spent with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Anita B. Segura of Alamosa; daughters Flora (Phil) Archuleta. Frances (Lloyd) Trujillo both of Alamosa; Magdalen (Greg) Molyneux of Elko, Nevada; Mary (Albert) Archuleta of Denver; Elsie (Zack) Pimental of Burlington; son Efren (JoAnn) Segura of Alamosa; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many cousins and friends.

Penta was preceded in death by his parents Tircio and Magdalena Segura, daughters Lucille Hernandez, Rebecca Segura and one son Joseph Thomas Segura.

Viewing and visitation will be held on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019 from 1-5 p.m. at the Romero Funeral Chapel in San Luis. A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019 at 7 p.m. at Sangre De Cristo Catholic Church in San Luis. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Friday, Sept. 13, 2019 at 10 a.m. also at Sangre De Cristo Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the San Francisco Cemetery.
