Phillip Larry Sanchez

Phillip was born in Alamosa, Colorado on September 3, 1957, the proud son of Anastacio P. Sanchez and Beatrice Esquibel Sanchez.

Phillip worked for many years in Maintenance and Custodial work.  Most recently he worked for the Saguache School District.  Phillip was an avid Las Vegas Raiders fan and enjoyed watching them play.  He loved his family more than anything and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.  Phillip liked the mountains and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He worked on restoring his 1955 Chevy and like to cruise around town.  He also his dogs Shaggy, Coco and Shadow.

He is survived by his daughters Kristine Sanchez, Ashley Sanchez and Keisha Sanchez, all of Alamosa; his grandchildren Lillyanna Velasquez and Ashanti Velasquez; the mother of his children Loretta Velasquez of Alamosa; his sister Wilma Lovato of Alamosa and her children Bernadette Lovato, Jesse and Andrew Lovato; his brother-in-law William (Betty) Velasquez of Albuquerque, NM; his sister-in-law Cathy Velasquez and her children Armando Vigil and Juana Valdez; his aunt Cleo Martinez of Velarde, NM; as well as numerous cousins and extended family and friends.

Phillip is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Arlene Sanchez, his nephews Henry Lovato, David Lovato and his brother-in-law Bernie Velasquez of San Luis.

Cremation was chosen and a Vigil with Recitation of the Rosary will be held 9:30 a.m. Thursday, April 21, 2022, followed by a Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 21, 2022 all at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Alamosa.  Interment will follow services in the Alamosa Spanish Cemetery.
