Polis announces new appointments to the 12th JD Judicial Performance Commission

DENVER — The office of Governor Polis announced this week that Ava Paula Medina, of La Jara, and Kristina Daniel, of Alamosa, have been appointed to serve as non-attorneys on the Twelfth Judicial District Judicial Performance Commission. Their term(s) will become effective December 1, 2021, replacing those predecessors whose terms expire on November 30, 2021.

There are a total of 23 judicial districts in the state of Colorado, including one State Commission, evaluating Supreme Court Justices and Court of Appeals Judges, and 22 District Commissions, evaluating District Court and County Court Judges. Performance evaluations of judges occur during two different cycles – retention and interim.

Members of Judicial District Judicial Performance Commissions serve a term of four years. Medina’s and McDaniel’s terms will expire November 30, 2025.
