Pond hockey tournament underway in Creede

Kip Nagy, center, owner of Kip’s Grill in Creede, is in the thick of things during Saturday’s opening round of the annual “Golden Pick” pond hockey tournament underway this weekend at the ponds just north of town. Nagy and Brian Brittain, owner of Tommyknocker Tavern in Creede, are the originators of the event and serve as official referees for the tournament that continues Sunday, Jan. 17 with a near record number of teams from throughout the region.
