Quirino Cervantez Jr.

Capulin resident Quirino Cervantez Jr., 68, went home to be with the Lord on September 30, 2021. He passed peacefully at his home under Hospice care with the company of his loving family by his side. Born on June 20, 1953 in Olton, Texas, the son of Quirino Cervantez Sr., and Maria Mejia Cervantez. Quirino was united in marriage to the love of his life Glenda Dominguez on October 28, 1972. They shared a long and loving union until his passing. An exceptional and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather brother, uncle, cousin and friend, he enjoyed watching westerns, reading, fixing cars and riding his Harley. He absolutely loved the time he was able to spend with his children, grandchildren and friends.

He will live on through his wife Glenda Cervantez of Capulin, CO; daughter Erica Cervantez of Capulin, CO; son Angelo (Jenni) Cervantez of Capulin, CO; grandchildren Diego Fernandez, Miguel Cervantez, Valentina Cervantez, Estevan Vega all of Capulin, CO; great-grandchildren Lionel Fernandez, of Capulin, CO; Kaila Wells of Grand Junction, CO; sisters Balvina Zarazua of Grand Prairie, TX; Emma Torres of Capulin, CO; Rosemary Cervantez of Texas; Angie Gonzales, Sylvia Maez both of La Jara, CO; brothers Manuel Cervantez of Capulin, CO; Ruben Cervantez of La Jara, CO. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Quirino was preceded in death by his parents Quirino and Maria Cervantez Sr. and one brother Lupe Cervantez.

A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at 7:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Capulin. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Monday, October 4, 2021 at 10:00 AM also at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Capulin. Interment will follow at the Capulin cemetery.
