Ray Baroz

Monte Vista resident Raymond “Ray” Candido Baroz, passed away February 18, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Ray was welcomed into the world on December 30, 1971 in La Jara, Colorado, the beloved son of Raymond Baroz Sr., and Lorraine Barela Baroz.  Ray enjoyed fishing, hunting, and being the best grandpa possible to his 10 grandchildren. His children and grandchildren were truly his pride and joy. He was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his wife Georgina Baroz, daughters Sheila Baroz, Danielle Baroz (Eduardo Rodriguez), son Vince Baroz (Lishae Jiron), mother Lorraine Baroz,10 grandchildren, siblings Adrian (Monica) Baroz, Matthew (Chello) Baroz, Angela Baroz (Robert Davis), Josh (Julie) Baroz. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Ray was preceded in death by his father Raymond Baroz Sr., sister Raedean Molina, grandparents Jose and Maria Navares, Joe and Josefita Baroz, Candido Barela, Cleotilde “Tillie” Hammett and his mother-in-law Maria G. Vasquez.

A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Conejos. A Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 11:00 AM also at Our Lady of Guadalupe. Interment will follow at the Navares Ranch family cemetery. Viewing and visitation will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 12-4 PM at the Romero Funeral Chapel in Alamosa. To leave online condolences please visit romerofuneralhomes.com.
