Outgoing Rio Grande County officials from right Brian Norton (sheriff 16 years) Peggy Kern (treasurer 24 years) Mona Syring (clerk of the board three years) and Karla Shriver (commissioner eight years) smile together at the Appreciation of Service Reception held for them on Friday, Dec. 28, at the Rio Grande County Annex in Del Norte.

The honorees display the jackets given to them by the county as a token of appreciation.

In spite of the snowy weather there was a good turnout of employees and community members to show their appreciation of all the years of service to the county.
