Regional favorite Robear and friends present CD release concert at Society Hall

ALAMOSA — Society Hall is hosting San Luis Valley favorite Robear and several of his musical friends at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 1. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door and are available at the Green Spot, 711 State Ave., Alamosa, or online at www.societyhall.org. The concert will also stream live on the Society Hall Facebook page.

Joining Robear for this performance will be an all-star cast of area musicians.

Robear is one of the most recognized musicians of the San Luis Valley area and of the region. He first came to the area as a member of the fabulous hillbilly-rock fusion band Gumbo, then joined forces with Tumbleweed in the early 1980's and was also a member of the OMI Express. He then formed Sneakers, one of the most popular classic rock bands in the area. He is now performing with Free Radicals and the occasional Tumbleweed reunion gig.

Along the way, Robear has become one of the area's busiest and trusted sound engineers and can often be seen behind the board at Society Hall, or at the concerts in the park.

Although perhaps known more for his lead and slide guitar work and his powerful vocal delivery, Robear is considered a great songwriter, and he has recently put out a collection of his originals. And he is going to invite a bunch of friends to help kick it off.

Joining him will be such well-known area performers as Tony Nardi, John Stenger, Rhonda Schoenecker, Don Richmond, Roger Dawson, Charley Johnson, Rich Gallegos, Paul Pearcy, and other special guests.

The concert is set for 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 1 at Society Hall. Tickets are available at the Green Spot or online at www.societyhall.org, and the concert will also stream live on the Society Hall Facebook page.
