Jane Thompson became a Christian at the age of 11—a year after her California Highway Patrolman father was shot and killed in the line of duty. She accepted Jesus at a church youth camp when a camp counselor and the pastor’s wife sat on her cot and said: “We know you’ve lost your earthly father, but would you like a Father who would never leave you or forsake you?” She eagerly said, “Yes.”

Thompson’s life has had its share of trials including two years in a plaster body cast during a bout with crippling scoliosis in her teens; divorce and 17 years as a single parent to daughter Kimberly Michele; and breast cancer diagnosis in 2002.

She has also experienced God’s guiding hand in her life through rededication to Him, marrying husband Dave, completing seminary and serving in ministry, beginning About His Work Ministries, and authoring numerous books.

She is the author of: such books as "Mentoring for All Seasons"; "Woman to Woman Mentoring"; Forsaken God? Remembering the Goodness of God our Culture Has Forgotten"; The Team That Jesus Built"; Face-to-Face Bible Study Series"; "Praying for Your Prodigal Daughter"; "Dear God, They Say It’s Cancer"; "Dear God, Why Can’t I Have a Baby? "; "Dear God, He’s Home!".

Thompson has an MBA from Californian Lutheran University and a Master of Arts in Christian Leadership from Fuller Theological Seminary. She is also a CLASS (Christian Leaders Authors and Speakers Services) graduate, a member of AWSA (Advanced Writers and Speakers Association), and a freelance writer for Crosswalk.com.

She and her husband Dave have four children in their blended family and 11 grandchildren. Dave is retired and a helpmate partner with Janet in About His Work Ministries.
