Results of the Alex P. Kahler tournament

ALAMOSA – The annual Alex P. Kahler men’s golf tournament took place this past weekend at Cattails Golf Course.

In the championship flight, Brandon Bervig had the best gross score with a two-round total of 148. Josh Hensley was second with a 153, Challis Wright and Brett Bandy tied for this with a 155, and Mason Dotter was fifth with a 162.

Colin Schrader won Flight 1 with a score of 163. Scott Kelleher was second with a 166, and Eddie Valdez, Shawn Gylling and Austin Heersink tied for third with a 168.

Mario Resendiz, Scott Wiedeman and Brandon Cordova tied for first in Flight 2 with a 162. Melvin Yates was fourth with a 164.

Chris Espinoza won Flight 3 with a 169. Benji Trujillo and Tom Hershey tied for second with a 172.

Winning Flight 4 was Diondre Garcia with a 174. Jacob Austin was second with a 185, and Doug Messick was third with a 186.

Shannon Pierce won Flight 5 with a 190. Jerome Austin was second with a 192, and Charlie Medina was third with a 193.

In the Senior Flight, Frank Martinez and Grover Hamilton tied for first with a 166, and Kip Walker was third with a 167.

Among net scores, Wright and Hensley were first in the championship flight with a 147 with Wright winning in a playoff. Kale Mortensen and Bandy tied for third with a 149, and Tom Schultz and Bervig tied for fifth with a 150.

Schrader also had the best net score in Flight 1 with a 147. Kelleher was second with a 150, and Valdez, Heersink and Gylling tied for third with a 152.

Resendiz also had the best net in Flight 2 with a 142. Cordova was second with a 147, and Keith Griggs, Brian Harmon and Mic Davis tied for third with a 147.

Trujillo had the nest net in Flight 3 with a 146. Espinoza was second with a 147, and Ron Dunn was third with a 149.

In Flight 4, Garcia also had the nest net with a four-under-par 138. Messick was second with a 148, and Jacob Austin and John DeHerrera tied for third with a 149.

Pierce also had the best net in Flight 5 with a 144. Jerome Austin was second with a 148, and Medina was third with a 149.

In the Senior Flight, Darrel Van Iwarden had the best net with a one-under-par 141. Grover Hathorn was second with a 148, and Walker was third with a 149.
