Richard Angelo John Olivas

Alamosa resident Richard Angelo John Olivas, 24, passed away on September 13, 2022. He was born on December 9, 1997 in Alamosa, Colorado to William Olivas and Michelle Irene Perea. He was raised by Aaron Gonzales.  Richard enjoyed listening to music, he wanted to be a rapper. He enjoyed watching the Kansas City Chiefs, riding his bike and above all spending time with his family, his nieces and his girlfriend Mikayla Carson, whom he loved dearly.

Richard is survived by his mother Michelle (Mack Gibson) Perea, his father William Olivas and Aaron Gonzales who helped raise him, his best friend, his everything, Jacinda (Kevin) Suazo, his siblings, Alyssa (Austin) Molinar, Lee (Kaya) Roman, Romez Olivas, Deja Sandoval and Santana Sandoval, his nieces, Jacianna Suazo and Milani Molinar, his maternal grandmother Brenda Perea, his aunts and uncles, Mike Perea, Denise Perea, Beverly Cordova, Jimmy Mondragon, Jr., Tommy Mondragon, Maddy (Tee) DeLuna, Angel Mondragon and Margo Mondragon, his god parents, Nicole “Tamara” Perea and Mike Ruybal as well as numerous other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Jimmy Mondragon, paternal grandmother Irene Olivas, maternal great grandparents, Joe and MaryAnn Perea, his uncle Joseph Perea-Hoagland, his great aunt Debbie Perea, great uncle Richard Perea and his niece Doreen Rose Suazo.

A visitation from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday September 21, 2022 at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Alamosa. Cremation will follow the viewing and a private family memorial service will be held at a later time. To express condolences, please visit www.rogersfunerals.com
