Richard "Ricky" Atencio, 30, of San Jose, Calif., passed away on March 3, 2024, in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Ricky was a very generous and amazing man who always took care of his loved ones, ensuring they felt safe, protected, and happy. He had a hardworking and hardheaded nature, always on the move and cheering on the underdog.
Ricky's vibrant personality made him the life of the party, a big kid at heart who could bring laughter to anyone's face.
Ricky was a devoted son, brother, father to Urijah and Xzavier, uncle, and boyfriend. He touched the lives of everyone he met and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his father Steven Atencio, mother Laurie Atencio, sons, siblings Amanda, Shawn, Steven M, and Debbie, and girlfriend Jenna.
Ricky leaves behind cherished memories in the hearts of his family and friends.
A business owner by profession, Ricky had a passion for hunting, fishing, dirt bike and ATV riding, hiking, basketball, and cooking. He dedicated his time to helping youth and the community, leaving a positive impact wherever he went.
The funeral service to honor Ricky's life will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Conejos on March 15 at 11 a.m.
