Rio Grande Farm Park will host art unveiling

ALAMOSA — The Rio Grande Farm Park has commissioned local artists to create sculptural responses to the land that double as sitting places, funded by an Arts in Society grant.

Jodie Bliss, owner of Bliss Studio & Gallery in Monument, and a practicing artist, blacksmith, metal fabricator and glass blower created the Three Sisters Seed Meditation Pod.

A creative partnership between CaRi Conari and Thomas Robinson, both from Alamosa, designed a set of sitting places that truly represent the natural beauty and aesthetic of the Rio Grande Farm Park and San Luis Valley.  These sitting places will be unveiled on Friday, August 3rd. These sculptural works of art will be integrated with the land.

Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the view of and from these incredible works of art! As part of this work, there will be an Art Talk by Jodie Bliss at the SLV Health Education and Conference Center where Jodie will share her process and philosophy.  Please join in these two amazing events! Refreshments will be served!

6:30-8 p.m. Art Talk @ SLV Health Education and Conference Center

Friday, August 3rd:

5-7 p.m.  Art Unveiling @ Rio Grande Farm Park

About the Rio Grande Farm Park

We are a growing network of people and organizations coming together to design, fund, develop and manage a community park that fosters local food production and sales, healthy living practices and local arts and culture. Nestled in Alamosa, the Rio Grande Farm Park holds at its core Preservation and Creation: the preservation of the San Luis Valley’s agricultural heritage, precious water resource, and open public spaces, the creation of economic development, healthy living practices, and educational opportunities.
