Rio Reels Film Fest celebrates rivers

ALAMOSA — The Rio Grande Headwaters Restoration Project and the Headwaters Alliance are partnering to host Rio Reels Film Festival on October 27 from 6-9 p.m.! The event will take place in Alamosa at Adams State University’s McDaniel Hall, Room 101. The film festival will include four short films sharing the theme of rivers, celebrating this natural resource and the joy that rivers bring to our lives. Attendees will hear from keynote speaker, Seth Mason, about his attempt to break the record of the fastest trip down the Grand Canyon.

There will be awesome door prizes and a large silent and live auction featuring local artwork – including paintings, photo prints, pottery and multimedia pieces, vacation packages, ski and golf trips, and more. Refreshments and beer will be provided.

Proceeds from this event go to projects that improve water quality, wildlife habitat, recreation, irrigation infrastructure and the overall condition of the Rio Grande headwaters!

Thanks to: Miller Coors, the Rio Grande Club, Wolf Creek Ski Area, Body Tune-Up, Mountain Man Rafting, Mountain Skillz, Cattails Golf Course, and many local artists and businesses who have generously donated to the silent and live auctions.

Event tickets are $25. For more event information and to purchase tickets, visit our Eventbrite page by typing in “Rio Reels” in the search bar, call 719-589-2230 or email [email protected]. Come join in a fun-filled evening and show support for these community watershed organizations!
