Rio Reels Film Festival returns

ALAMOSA – The Rio Grande Headwaters Restoration Project is hosting the second annual Rio Reels Film Festival, on November 9 from 6-9 p.m. The event will take place at Adams State University’s McDaniel Hall, Room 101.

The film festival will include several short films and a presentation surrounding the theme of rivers, celebrating this natural resource and the joy that rivers bring to our lives. Attendees will hear from keynote speaker, journalist Colin McDonald, about his dynamic journey down the length of the Rio Grande in 2014.

There will be awesome door prizes and a large silent and live auction featuring local artwork – including paintings, photo prints, and pottery – vacation packages, golf trips and more. Food, beer, wine, and margaritas will be provided.

Proceeds from this event go to projects that improve water quality, wildlife habitat, recreation and the overall condition of the Rio Grande headwaters!

Thank you to: the Rio Grande Club, Sunrise Springs Spa Resort, Body Tune-Up, Mountain Skillz, and many local artists and businesses who have generously donated to the silent and live auction.

Event tickets are $25. For more event information and to purchase tickets, visit riograndeheadwaters.org/rioreels, call 719-589-2230 or email [email protected].
