A Private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Edward Catholic Church in Richard for Robert M. “Bob” McCoy, 83, who passed away on Friday, July 10, 2020, at 10:57 A.M. at Opelousas General Hospital in Opelousas. Fr. Wayne Duet, Pastor of St. Edward Catholic Church will be officiating for the service. A Rosary will be recited in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point. Burial will be held in St. Edward Catholic Church Cemetery in Richard.

Survivors include his wife of thirty-four years, Patsy D. McCoy of Richard; two sons, Bert and wife, Gina McCoy of Eunice, Mike and wife, Beverly of Eunice; one daughter, Cissy of Eunice; one-step son, Randall and wife, Melinda “Yankee” Arabie of Richard; three step-daughters, Cynthia and husband, Kurt Granger of Ball, La., Marla and husband, Marcus Sattler of Richard and Joanie and husband, Jeff Gore of Tioga; one brother, William “Bill” McCoy, Jr. of Alamosa, CO; one sister, Pat Holman of Manassa, CO; one sister-in-law, Gloria McCoy of Concrete, WA; thirteen grandchildren, Nick, Chris, Joey, Jade, Bradley and Chantelle, Stacy and Duke, Chantell and Jason, Adrienne and Tre, Dustin, Shawn, Micah and Candise, Stephany and Brittney and Chris; several greatgrandchildren, one greatgreat-grandson on the way; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. McCoy served our Country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Bob loved his family. He enjoyed spending time outside and burning his leaves and fallen branches. He loves telling us stories from when he was young growing up in Colorado and his military days. He was very patriotic and flew the American Flag regularly.

Mr. McCoy was preceded in death by his parents, William McCoy, Sr. and Edna T. Hicks; one brother, Eddie “Max” McCoy.
