The Alamosa Live Music Association (ALMA) is thrilled that its Battle of the Bands at Summerfest on the Rio in Alamosa was a success. Five artists competed: IN TOTO, Steve Hield, G-Stylez, Lucky Overton Trio, and Absolution. The winner of the Battle was Antonito’s own Absolution — Matt Samora (drums), Erik Lucero (guitar), Alex Flores (bass), and Liz Samora (vocals) — who will perform at the first Sundays at Six concert of the season in Cole Park on June 25. Their sound is characterized by heavy guitar riffs, powerful drumming, and emotive lyrics that explore themes of love, loss, and empowerment.
