ALAMOSA — Rose Marie Mendosa, 79, went home to be with the Lord on June 1, 2020, peacefully at her home with her loving husband and daughter Amanda by her side. Rose came into the world on September 19, 1940, in Las Cruces, New Mexico, the daughter of Jose M. Trujillo and Maria Adela Pelon Trujillo.

United in marriage to Arthur Mendosa on August 11, 1972. She devoted her life to caring for her family. Rose was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She enjoyed cooking, doing crossword puzzles, watching western movies, going for drives, and above all spending time wither her grandchildren and family.

Survivors include her husband Arther Louis Mendosa of Alamosa, CO; daughters Mary (Carlos) Lopez, Donna Mendosa, Amanda Mendoza all of Alamosa, CO; Patricia Gurule of Romeo, CO; Brenda (Emery) Lucero of Pueblo, CO; Naomi Mendosa of Denver, CO; sons Nicholas (Brenda) Mondragon, Jesse Mondragon (Robert Johnson), Gerald (Rita) Lobato all of Antonito, CO; Gabriel (Barbara) Lobato of Denver, CO; Don Mendosa of Alamosa, CO; 24 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; sisters Sandra Hernandez, Theresa (Phillip) Trujillo of Antonito, CO; brothers Ray (Lourdes) Trujillo of Alamosa, CO; Alberto Trujillo of Denver, CO; Leroy Trujillo and Wayne (Nicole) Trujillo of Antonito, CO. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents Jose and Adela Trujillo, son David Floyd, sister Bernadette Jacquez, brother George Trujillo, grandchildren Susie Gurule-Espinoza, Alexandra Mondragon, Brian Mondragon, and nephew Jeremy Trujillo.

A memorial service will be held on July 18, 2020, at 11:00 AM at “Our Lady of Guadalupe” church in Conejos, CO.
