Rose Sanchez

Lifetime Monte Vista resident Rose Sanchez, 79 passed away on July 26, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on June 30, 1943, in Taos, New Mexico to JD (Damian) and Alice Mascarenas. 

Rose Sanchez (Our Nana) was a dedicated wife to Antonio Sanchez, an exceptional mother, and devoted grandmother/great-grandmother.  She loved the lord and all he blessed her family with.  Rose Sanchez and Lee Archuleta had five beautiful daughters who she instilled all of her qualities in.

Rose Sanchez is survived by her brother’s Jr. Mascarenas, Tony Mascarenas, Paul Mascarenas, Eddie Mascarenas, David Mascarenas, John Mascarenas, Michael Mascarenas and sister Virgina Lucero. Her husband Antonio Sanchez of Monte Vista, her children; Sharon (Odin) Dean, Lenora (Tom) Phillips, Bernice (Pat) Guttierrez, Christina Archuleta, and Daisy (Fred) Martinez, her grandchildren; Eliza (Edgar) Montes, Angel (Jon) Whitmer, LaToya (David) Salazar, Ross (Jazmin) Pena, Patrick Guttierrez Jr.,  Christopher Archuleta, Joshua (Diana) Neufeld, Christie (Flo) Phillips,  Denayea (Ben) Martinez, Jaziah (Alexis) Martinez ; as well as many loving great grandchildren: Jimena, Vianney, Januel, Parker, Piper, Kianna, Zelyana, Shania, Zelicia, Zavion, Kadyn, Kylee, Ziah, Graelyn, Dakstyn, Gabriel, Josh Jr., James, Olivia, Jose, Cabella, Maximus, Preston, Jayce, Vanessa, Victoria and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Helen Mascarenas, brother’s Gilbert Mascarenas, Manuel Mascarenas, Leo Mascarenas

A Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday August 2, 2022 at Rogers Family Mortuary in Monte Vista.  A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday August 3, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monte Vista.
