SAGUACHE — The Range in Saguache will have an opening reception for the exhibition “Ruth Ann Christy and Family: Retrospective and Prospective” from 4 to 6 p.m. on June 28.

This show will feature three generations of artists, including Ruth Ann’s daughters-in-law Jaclyn Christy and Laura Christy Mezoff, and her granddaughters Eva Christy and Zoe Christy. It includes paintings in ink, watercolor, acrylic, and oil, alongside baskets, floral arrangements, and food made by the artists.

Christy has lived in the San Luis Valley near La Garita since 1968, with her husband Jim Christy. Her artwork is often inspired by forms in nature and her experiences over the years of the places she holds dear.

Jaclyn Christy lives in La Madera, N.M., with her husband Olin Christy, and is a writer and gardener with passions for the healing arts and adobe restoration.

Laura Christy Mezoff lives in Monte Vista with her husband Luke Christy and their daughters Eva and Zoe. She is a renewable energy entrepreneur and is exploring textiles and basket making.

Eva and Zoe are students with a love of drawings and animals.

Ruth Ann Christy and Family: Retrospective and Prospective is a special opportunity to celebrate the Christy family’s interwoven creativity. The Range is at 307 4th St., Saguache.

The exhibition will be on display through July 28. During the show, The Range is open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Ring the bell or call 646-734-1373 to visit outside of these hours.

The exhibition is funded by support from a Saguache County Sales Tax Grant and will result in a publication.
