Saguache Ranger District announces changes

SAGUACHE – On behalf of the Rio Grande National Forest (RGNF), Saguache Ranger District, Trout Unlimited has published a draft addendum to the Engineers Evaluation and Cost Analysis for the Minnie Lynch Mine site located about 2 miles north of Bonanza in Saguache County, Colorado. The project locations are on RGNF lands. Work is tentatively planned for July 2021.

The draft document is available for public review and comment (see below for link). The 30-day public comment period will end on March 31, 2021. Please email comments to the On-Scene Coordinator for the project, Laura Archuleta at [email protected].

This ongoing project is being conducted as a cooperative effort between US Forest Service, Trout Unlimited, and US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS). The initial assessment and planning for the project was a cooperative effort between Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety, USFS, Trout Unlimited, USFWS, Bureau of Land Management, and the Environmental Protection Agency. USFS is the lead agency for this action and Trout Unlimited will be implementing the project.
