Salida duo Pint & A Half returns to Society Hall

ALAMOSA — Society Hall, at 400 Ross Avenue in Alamosa, is proud to present the Salida duo Pint & A Half in concert, with special guests Don Richmond and Jahil Bragassa on Friday, May 11th at 7:30 p.m. Opening the show will be Briony Kennington Hunn. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance, or $20 at the door, and are available online at www.societyhall.org, or in Alamosa at the Green Spot.

Pint & A Half is Duke and Tami Sheppard, who have been taking their brand of high-energy yet thoughtful Americana/Alt-Country out into the world for several years with great success, both regionally and across the country. Their music is rooted in their life in the southern Rockies of their Salida home, yet seems to resonate with audiences wherever they go, with songs like their new single “Mountains, Rivers, Music”, celebrating the things that keep them moving forward in these turbulent times. Their songwriting also tackles social and historical themes of the growth and development of beautiful places like Salida in their most recent CD “Boomtown Ghosts”, which garnered national attention in the highly respected music magazine No Depression, which remarked, “The husband-and-wife duo have quickly gained access to full alt-country credentials. This is an album that will speak to people in a way they haven’t yet heard.”

Joining Duke and Tami will be Jahil Bragassa on string bass and Don Richmond, Alamosa-based musician and record producer, who recorded and co-produced the new single and the Boomtown Ghosts CD, on few different instruments. Vail Valley singer-songwriter  Briony Kennington Hunn will open the show.

No Depression adds, regarding Pint & A Half’s latest CD, “It is unusual to find a small-town independent artist who can pull off such a nuanced and impressive theme album as well as such a quality production. This album should earn a place in the CD changer or playlist for every drive long enough to listen to its entirety. But be careful. These songs will imprint very quickly in your mind because they feel like moments you’ve experienced yourself. Pint and a Half just does them better for you.”
