Alamosa police, fire and ambulance personnel respond to a two-vehicle accident late morning on Wednesday, Dec. 5, in the 1300 block of Main Street in Alamosa in front of Starbucks. According to the Alamosa Police Department, Cynthia Merchant from Salida was traveling west on Main Street within the north lane and made an abrupt left turn, attempting to enter a business parking lot crossing into the south lane directly into the path of another vehicle driven by John Tilton from Fort Garland.  Merchant received a citation for changing lanes when unsafe. The Alamosa ambulance crews medically cleared both drivers, and both declined transportation.
