Sam Burris, 84

ALAMOSA — Sam Burris, 84, passed away at home on Monday Feb. 24.

He was born on Dec. 12, 1935 to George and Helen (White) Burris. Sam was a beloved man.

He was fond of all things that went fast, if it had wheels and a motor, he had a talent for it.

Sam is survived by his significant other Shirley; children, Kenda Burris of Colorado Springs;  Charlie Burris of Phoenix, Brenda (Steve) Ehrhardt of Colorado Springs; stepchildren, Bryan (Jill) Sims of Denver, and Jim (Sylvia) Evans of Alamosa; sisters, Phyllis Worden of Cheyenne, Wyom., and Shirley June Josephs of Alamosa; nephew, Steve (Donna) Burris of Mosca; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, other nephews, nieces and extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Helen; his brother, Kenneth; and his former wives, Carol and Virginia.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, Feb. 28 at the Alamosa Cemetery at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family would ask you to make contributions to Hospice Del Valle, which can be sent to the Funeral Home.
