Sand announces inaugural women’s wrestling team
ALAMOSA – Less than ten months after Athletic Director Katelyn Smith announced the addition of women’s wrestling as a varsity sport offered by Adams State University, Inaugural Head Coach Kyle Sand has announced the first-ever women’s wrestling roster.
“We have a hard working, talented young recruiting class that is ready to earn their spots for the Grizzlies,” said Sand of the class. “Everyone one of our ladies has taken a sense of pride in being the foundation for the start of our women’s program. It’s going to be an exciting year watching this class grow into competitive collegiate athletes.”
Sand, who was recently announced as a member of the ASU Hall of Fame Class of 2023, also noted the Grizzlies will open their season on Dec. 3, 2023. More information will be released as the season gets closer.
