Sangre de Cristo FBLA chapter members attend the FBLA National Fall Leadership Conference in Charlotte, North Carolina.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte, North Carolina was the site of the FBLA National Fall Leadership Conference held November 16-17. The Sangre de Cristo chapter was represented by Avery Palmgren, Jessica Slane, Mercades Gregory and Makenzie Rogers accompanied by adviser Carol Sessums and her husband Hunter.

The trip began with eye opening sights of the gorgeous Queen City. Members were able to explore the city on segways and truly learn about the great history of Uptown Charlotte. Looking around, anyone from the street could notice the amazing architecture and how each building holds a crown.

Following an eventful day of touring the city and learning about Charlotte; the Sangre de Cristo FBLA chapter attended the opening session with other representatives from states such as New York, Alabama and even the Virgin Islands. The session kicked off with the national officers introducing themselves and motivating all of us to “Create, Lead and Inspire.”

Following the national officers on stage was the opening session keynote speaker, Brandon Lee, a youth mover who taught all in attendance that they need to “own it.”

Saturday, November 17, was a day full of inspiration and motivation. Members attended workshops throughout the day that truly sparked creativity and the desire to work hard to achieve their dreams. The day was ended with another great keynote speaker Carlos V. Spencer. He taught members healthy reminders to guide them through life.

Sangre de Cristo FBLA members left Charlotte with a feeling of motivation and determination to work hard for the things they want in life. Arriving back in Colorado on November 18, Sangre de Cristo members were excited to share their experience on how they were going to create, lead, and inspire.
