Santa helps spread the joy

FT. GARLAND --The Fort Garland Revitalization Committee (FGRC) would like to extend its thanks to The Trinchera Foundation, Sangre De Cristo Homeowners Association (SCRO), Sierra Grande School, Friends of the Fort Garland Museum, Rick Manzanaras, All Gon Restaurant, Blanca/Fort Garland Community Center, Walmart, Costilla County Fire Department and the many elves who assisted in organizing the event providing books, pizza, fire hats and stuffed stockings to more than 100 local youth!

A recent land sale partnered with Costilla County allowed the foundation to donate $1,000 into the Sierra Grande scholarship pool, which is dispersed to students according to a scoring system, along with $1,000 to both the Sierra Grande art and music departments. Student volunteers Jannelle Aguilar, also Student Body President, and Iava Williams accepted on behalf of the school.

FGRC is a caring group of residents, volunteers and neighbors, united since 1989 as a non-profit corporation. Its efforts and projects directly benefit the communities of Fort Garland and Blanca, Colorado.

FGRC welcomes and encourages new members to get involved. Please contact Ayesha Williams at [email protected] for more information.
