ALAMOSA – The Rev. Tricia Schneider and David Schneider will celebrate a Disciples of Christ communion service and blessing of the palms at St. Thomas the Apostle Episcopal Church, 607 Fourth St., at 9 a.m. Palm Sunday, March 25.

Because of the way palms are harvested and the detriment to the environment, St. Thomas will not have real palms to be blessed. Church members have made ribbon “palms” which can be used year after year.

The service, open to all, will be followed by a coffee hour.

The Rev. Carl Andrews, retired Canon to the Ordinary for the Diocese of Colorado, will celebrate at a special Easter Sunday service at the Bridge, 3407 Carroll St., Alamosa, 11 a.m. April 1. All are welcome. There will be no Easter service at St. Thomas Church this year.
