School board seats Heredia

ALAMOSA — After Thom Miller’s departure in July from District 1, the Alamosa Board of Education has appointed Elias Heredia to replace him.

Heredia has worked with volunteering at his church and has been involved in the Alamosa literacy program for the past four years.

Heredia said he wants to help people succeed as much as they can.

“We have to work together on all levels,” Heredia said.

Heredia was voted and instated at the beginning of the BOE meeting on August 6.
