School's out for summer!

Alamosa Elementary concluded the school year with a field day of fun Thursday. A slip-n-slide, relays, bike rides, potato sack races and a fire truck blasting water were all part of the excitement of the last day.

Above, AES Principals Lori Smith and Christy McBee show solidarity prior to the first spraying from the fire truck. The principals promised their students if they hit their reading goals, they'd get wet. AES 3-5 students surpassed their goal by reading and taking AR quizzes on over 32,000 books, while K-2 students accomplished theirs with 12,000 books.

Fourth graders Michael Johnson and Carlos Garcia joined hands in an attempt to win a hula hoop relay for their team.

The smiles say it all as AES teacher Kelly Ozawa encourages fourth grade student Alicia Winters in a potato sack race on Thursday.

Addy Malouff gains some air as she works toward the finish line in a potato sack race.

Students celebrate alongside AES principals as the water from the fire truck rains down on them.
