More than 100 students who are eligible for Ortega Middle School’s Science club 95 sit in the gym at OMS on Friday to proudly pose for their first picture. To become an honorary member of club 95, students must have a 95 percent or above in their science class every other week. If they keep their science grade high, they receive half the amount of homework, passes to athletic events and concessions, Friday treats such as mind puzzles, and other privileges. If students remain in club 95 an entire semester, they are awarded a half-day field trip, and if they qualify for the entire year, they get to participate on an adventurous two-day field trip in May!
