Second drug arrest made at same residence

ALAMOSA – Benjamin Sanchez, 36, of Alamosa was arrested on various drug charges Monday after a search warrant was served at 708 11th Street in regard to possible illegal drug activity. This was the second incident of narcotics operations at this residence since mid-June by the Alamosa Police Department.

Several subjects were contacted within the residence while APD detectives discovered suspected heroin, methamphetamine, one handgun, and U.S. currency along with items used to distribute and consume narcotics.

Sanchez was transported to the Alamosa County Detention Center for unlawful distribution of a schedule II, unlawful distribution of a schedule I, possession of a controlled substance schedule I and II, prohibited use of a weapon, violation of bail bond’s conditions and an active misdemeanor warrant out of the Alamosa County Sheriff’s Office.

Due to the established pattern of narcotic distribution, specific with this address, this is a direct result of the operations conducted by the department.
